Summer Camp
2010
This year we're pleased to kick off
the summer with two distinct camp options - ROBOLAB Camps and Summer
Camps.
Our regular Summer Camps will utilize
a wide variety of spaces in and around the museum - filled with
fun,
interaction, and hands-on play for kids, these camps are a great
option for children of all ages.
Our ROBOLAB Camps will be held in
ROBOLAB, designed for robotics and motorized & non-motorized small
machine building concepts. Utilizing computers, LEGO Robots
and LEGO Simple Machines (motorized and non-motorized) we'll play
through a wide variety of learning opportunities in math, science,
engineering and computer programming. For ROBOLAB Camps, on
July
5th, we will have camp - if your child is unable to attend on
that day, please let us know and we'll pro-rate that week's fees for
the missed day.
In both the morning session and
afternoon session camps, we provide a small snack with juice or
bottled water for campers at the break.
ROBOLAB
CAMPS
ROBOLAB: LEGO Robotics (Two Week Camps)
LEGO Robotics are a great way for builders to learn basic design
principles, mechanical concepts, engineering principles, basic
computer programming and have fun at the same time. Campers
will work in teams to build and program robots that can complete
a variety of tasks based on the theme for the session using LEGO
robot kits.
Grades: 1-6 (AGE 6 to 12)
Maximum Enrollment: 8 children
SUMMER CAMPS
Big Thinkers!
We often hear “think outside the box... See More“- but what does
that mean? Each week, in Big Thinkers!, kids are encouraged to
think outside the box as we explore a wide range of concepts,
ideas and little known facts about our world. This is “stealthy”
learning at its best - science, math, language arts and more are
all included without being taught, as kids play to learn and
have fun thinking along the way! Each week we'll start with a
theme and go from there, using a variety of fun ways to explore
and learn - arts & crafts, LEGO, K'Nex, imagination and more!
